RandBall event/contest: NBA draft
Posted on June 17th, 2008 – 3:40 PMBy Michael Rand
As many of you know, we are participating in the Wolves’ “pay the pick” promotion in which we obtained two season tickets for the per game price of the Wolves’ lottery pick (No. 3, as it turned out). Well, in order to divvy up the tickets, we are going to need to have a lottery of our own. And in order to determine the lottery order, we have decided to have a competition to predict the NBA draft, which is next Thursday, June 26, at 6:30 p.m. We think it is high time for another RandBall gathering, and this seems to be the perfect opportunity. We’ll come up with a location shortly, but someplace easily accessed from Interlachen would be keen considering we’ll likely be coming straight from covering the U.S. Women’s Open. Even if you can’t make it, though, we encourage you to give us your mock draft lottery. We’ll come up with a scoring system, and the person closest to the actual and real truth will win a pair of our Wolves tickets to a game sometime this year (prize or punishment? You be the judge). We’ll also likely send out an invitation via e-vite. If you do not receive one because of some oversight or because we don’t like you, please give us a shout and we will rectify the situation or continue to ignore you. In the mean time, e-mail us or note in the comments 1) your attendance interest and 2) your mock draft (lottery only). Bonus points will likely be awarded for hitting the No. 3 pick correctly.
