Let the jinxing begin: Dr. Z likes Vikes to win it all

We’re entering some dangerous territory: the Vikings are officially becoming that “sleeper” team that everyone is sneakily hot on. They are the Jenna Fischer of the NFL. Problem is, it’s way too soon. It’s only mid-June, and usually the mid-June NFL sleeper becomes the mid-November NFL bust. You can look it up. We would, if we weren’t afraid our theory would be shattered. But we’re pretty sure. It’s science. Too many people liking something theoretically improved but woefully unproven. It can’t end well. Just ask a man who tells a lot of [redacted] jokes, loves the Vikings and may or may not be awesome at foosball. His one-word e-mail reply: Noooooooooooooooooo. The news? This train has already left the station. SI’s Dr. Z has a prescription for pain: a prediction that the Vikings are going all the way. He spells out all the offseason moves we already know about and comes to this conclusion:
So en fin, do I like the Vikings to go all the way? Well, yeah, why not? A feeling of destiny, that’s what I sense about Brad Childress and his baby quarterback.
It’s frightening because Mr. Zimmerman knows a lot about football and picked the Saints to run the table last year. The Saints went 7-9. Everyone: Bet the under. It’s the only way to reverse this rolling boulder of a jinx.
