The Internets: Steve Nash and Baron Davis
Posted on July 21st, 2008 – 3:36 PMBy Michael Rand
We could look at that picture of Steven Nash and Baron Davis on a tandem bike for hours. Honestly. It appears to have originated at Barstool sports, which for some reason is a blocked site at the Star Tribune. You can go to Deadspin for the link, if you’re into that sort of thing.
*Carson Palmer: Not a big Ohio State fan.
*Hey Madison and Fargo: Get off your dead [redacteds] and buy some Hold Steady tickets already. Fargo, especially: you’ve always dreamed of being a Mini-Minneapolis. Don’t pretend it’s not true. Show up.
*Racing in high heels. A Moscow phenomenon or the next Good Sports?
*Somebody has a crush on Minneapolis.

I can see it now Rand, Stu, Fasola, and Bernard Berrian running 40 yard sprints*, in high heels, across the Metrodome carpet.
* Sprinting may not be the proper term for Rand, Stu, and Fasola.
It looks like Jeremy Shockey finally whined enough.
Is there going to be a mini Redactular at the HS’s First Avenue show?
Based on the Iowa football sexual assault cover-up Deadspin is reporting (how did I not hear about thise sooner?), perhaps my plate could be CU KIRK.
AZ: I think the Des Moines Register just broke that story over the weekend. Not good.

Given that the HS is apparently the Official Band of RandBall (in the collective, not the singular form), I’m guessing “yes.”
And I think we should define some other RandBall officials. For example:
Official Breed of Dog: Pug
Official National Chain Restaurant: Sonic
Official Japanese Poetry Form: Haiku
Official Wing: 30-cent wing at Legends
Stu: I know Brandon, Local Quipster, myself and MC Creme Fraiche will be there, at the very least.
Jon, I like where you’re going with that. I might turn that into the friscalating dusklight. Consider it done.
I here Iowa is also having a bit of trouble with one of there new recruits. How does Kirk still have a job?
I’m not going to tomorrow’s show, because I suck and it’s sold out. HOW-EVAH, I will be at the Tucson show next Saturday, because I hear Arizona is gorgeous this time of year.
I think Merx is referring to the Iowa recruit who saw Old School one too many times.
Wait. They’re too hipster for Phoenix, but will play Fargo? I really do live in a cultural desert, don’t I?

Pish-tosh. Says here you’ve got Buckcherry, Billy Squier, Edgar Winter and Belinda Carlisle coming into town next week. Rock and roll!
I guess escaping to Vegas in July isn’t so stupid after all. I heard Frank from The Real World Vegas is having his 29th birthday party while we’re there, so we might rock that.
AZGopherGirl:
THS made stops in the Valley during both the Separation Sunday and Boys and Girls in America tours. The former saw our favorite lads fail to sell out the Brickhouse (seriously, I’ve partied with larger, more informed crowds at rural Blue Earth County house parties) and the latter, at Marquee Theater (with the extra dope art brut), was filled to about 18 percent capacity. You see, we had two chances to prove our worth and, sadly, we blew them both. The band had to move on to more relevant culture centers like Fargo.
