I hope the cost for Hawkins wouldn’t be anywhere near that high. Hard to get much trade value for a guy you’re about to pay NOT to pitch for you anymore.

If Bill Smith gave up anything like that, I’d gladly join the angry, pitchfork and torch wielding mob outside the Dome.

I think he’s been better this year than in years past, but I’m with the majority here. I don’t see the value, and worry that we might have to trade Liriano and a prospect to get Hawkins.

Didn’t getting off the juice slim Pudge more than any pinstripes will?

Pudge is in the last year of his contract and his shoulder is duct taped to the rest of his body. His offense is not what it use to be. Inge isn’t as big a drop off on defense as people thik. Pudge’s defense has been almost as overrated as Jeter’s the last couple of years.

All we can now hope is that Pudge was somehow the glue that held that team together.

I was always of the impression that Elmer’s was the glue that held Sheffield and Ordonez together.
