garnett.JPGtone-and-joe.jpgKirby Puckett played his entire career in Minnesota. So did Kent Hrbek. So did a lot of folks back in the day. Today’s stars, though, tend to be more mobile. And so it was one year ago today when Kevin Garnett, Minnesota’s most recent hope for that rare player who sticks with one team for the duration of a career, was shipped to Boston where he would wind up with a ring. In a startling bit of symmetry, we now firmly believe Brett Favre will not be a Packer by the end of the week. And we’re starting to believe more and more that he’s going to be in Purple. A legend nobody could envision in anything but Packers laundry — if he’s fair game to move, anyone is. Even Joe Mauer (for explanation of that picture, see post from earlier today). That said, we leave you with three questions:

1) Is Brett Favre going to be a Viking?

2) Do you care more or less about the Wolves one year after they traded their best player?

3) Will Joe Mauer play his entire career as a Minnesota Twin?

Think long and hard about all three. They’re connected. Nothing is in cement. Everything is fluid.
