The Friscalating Dusklight: This week happened
Posted on August 1st, 2008 – 4:43 PMBy Michael Rand
So let’s get this straight:
*Livan and Monroe are out. Francisco Liriano is on his way. So is Randy Ruiz. In fact, Ruiz isn’t at the Dome yet (as of 4:05 p.m.), but he’s batting sixth tonight for a team that’s battling for the division lead. Hold on tight!
*We still have no resolution to the Brett Favre saga. But he might make $20 million for doing the same thing he’s already doing.
*Ken Griffey Jr., Manny Ramirez and Pudge Rodriguez were traded.
*Official plans for UAFORB t-shirts were launched.
*Dan Hinote: Better than you.
*You vote for the Commenter Of the Week.

My Cow vote goes to Randball’s Screech Powers look alike.
P.S. Prepare yourself for the reach-around at any point during the weekend Dave!
How much would it take to move you to Europe to play basketball? Would $40 million do it?

I would take $1 million to play in Europe than again I am not LeBron, and I can’t play basketball.
I would vote for The Hootie for his efforts commenting on Mose’s Randball T, but I suppose he’ll be too busy getting married to bother with a COW post.
My winner would be Stu quoting Amy Winehouse.
May I reiterate:
“Randball - if you’re tempting us into a discussion about the economic realities of pro sports… good job. Kudos… COW goes to Rand.”
If not COW, more posts on team loyalty vs. pro-sports economics… maybe a COW about the Minnesota (pre-Wilf) concept of developing a player (Billups, Santana, Garnett, Hunter… Casey Blake?) so well we lose him to free agency rather than offer a nice long-term and long-term beneficial deal… because we didn’t hand you a new ballpark fast enough (carl).
Or maybe Stu should get it for quoting Amy Winehouse.
