Try and stay at the historic Brown Hotel in Louisville. You can get good rates online. They have a ton of Sonic fast food joints there. And strip clubs - but very very nasty ones.

You may also be there during the Kentucky State Fair, which is good to go to because it pales horribly in comparison to the Great Minnesota Get Together and will make you feel all superior-like.

Rand, if you don’t have one already, get an I-Pass so you can just fly through tolls in Illinois and Indiana. It’ll save you a bunch of time and cash. Make sure to get a good whiff of Gary, Indiana as you pass through, too!

In Indianapolis if you are into monuments be sure to check out Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument located in the city center, I am told the city has the second most monuments out of any U.S. city behind only D.C.

We were driving to Georgia, through Wisconsin… our first 2 mistakes. It started lightly snowing, when my truck did a 180 and slid into the ditch avoiding several road signs. A semi proceeded to loose control and headed our general direction. He over corrected and went through the center ditch. (Good for us.) We made it out easily enough, but as we (slowly) drove along, a truck speeding behind us lost control and flipped into the ditch. Another jeep slid off and into a tree. You may notice a theme.

Another reason why I hate Wisconsin!
