The Friscalating Dusklight: Questions for Craig Finn
Posted on August 27th, 2008 – 5:30 PMBy Michael Rand
Our friend Li’l Dice passed along an item last week about Craig Finn — frontman of official RandBall band The Hold Steady — and we forgot about it until earlier today. The great worlds of music and baseball are set to collide on Sept. 10 when Finn chats about whatever you want on ESPN.com. You can send in your questions to the site, but not before you leave them right here in the comments as well.
Have a swell night. We’ll miss you — not personally, of course — but in the sense of noticing you are no longer here, at least for a few hours.

Mr. Finn,
In my book, wearing a jersey as clothes is not OK.
Good day, sir.
Best,
SCH
Dear Craig Finn -
Are you at all related to Neil Finn? And if so, sir, does it bother you that he’s your musical superior?
Signed,
RandBall Blasphemer
Mr. Finn,
newbie from the Randball blog.
Who are you, and what are you doing here?
signed,
newbie, from the Randball blog.
Craig Finn would probably agree with that, AZGG. “I Got You” is one of the best pop songs ever written.
My question to Craig would be, “Remember that one time when you signed that poster for me in a hotel lobby in Tucson? Yeah, that was awesome.”
Also, this:
“We’ll miss you — not personally, of course — but in the sense of noticing you are no longer here, at least for a few hours.”
…will become a running bit if I have anything to say about it.
oh, Mr. Finn.
newbie again.
Assuming you’re a guy that performs several nights a week, in front of a lot of people, in different bars, and meeting other bands…
Do you think the Twins should trade Jason Kubel for a good SS, move Span to left and, make Delmon Young a full time DH to remove the pressure of fielding?
newbie.
FYI- I was watching the IFC and after Swinger’s they played the video of The Hold Steady’s “Stay Positive” part of their indie music deal…
I guess you could say they are so money and they don’t even know it, not personally, of course.
“Have you ever been offered a role on the show the Office? You look like you would make a good copy machine geek. Also, Jay Mariotti plays a mean tambourine.”
Is that a Ron Gardenhire or Pat Putnam jersey?
Craig
What do you prefer to throw first, Rock, Paper, or Scissors?
And a belated +1 to you, lattewarrior.
Craig,
Brooklyn is for scum sucking hipster bands. Move back to Minneapolis.
