The Friscalating Dusklight: Prep football begins
Posted on August 28th, 2008 – 5:13 PMBy Michael Rand
We are nothing if not shameless cross-promoters. Tonight marks the start of the high school football season — the unofficial end to our summer and the start of a fun, hectic portion of our schedule that doesn’t let up for quite some time. We wanted to let you know that the very capable Jon Marthaler of RandBall Weekend Links fame is going to be blogging on our preps site during game nights this fall. It’ll be just like his work on RandBall, only he’ll be paid in something other than foamy beverages and intergalactic credits. For now, feel free to share your favorite high school sports memories as we slip back into that season.
Oh, and hot off the press release presses: the Wild is unveiling its first-ever mascot on Oct. 5. “Hot Tamales Wild Kids Club members are being encouraged to send their ideas for mascot names to the team.” RandBall readers are encouraged to do the same in the comments.

I’m starting to have very sneaking suspicions that these intergalactic credits aren’t worth anything…
I guess it’s a good thing that Rand has promised me INTRAgalactic credits for the prep football stuff! I think I’m really going to make out like a bandit with those.
Oops. I just posted to the preps blog. At least now it looks like Marth the Prep Sports Hottie has female readership.
I really thought the Marthaler coat of arms would be maroon and gold.
We can’t get the Vikings game here, so I’ve had the thrill of witnessing the Todd Bowman/Troy Williamson connection with John Madden commentary. Stellar!
