Owner: 3rd-year coach on hot seat after 0-2 start

“Obviously, the game of football is about winning,” an NFL owner recently said. “The level of play is not acceptable to me or anybody in the organization.” Yep, that’s what the owner said, all right. He also threatened to make changes if things don’t improve. Before all the anti-Brad Childress folks get too excited, though, the owner was Chip Rosenbloom, and he was talking about Scott Linehan of the Rams.
A day after unleashing a lengthy tirade about his winless team’s poor play, St. Louis Rams coach Scott Linehan was more positive Monday about turning the season around, saying, “I don’t have a choice and neither does anybody else around here.”
That reality became more apparent when team owner Chip Rosenbloom told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the team’s play was “not acceptable” and warned changes will come if things don’t improve.
The Rams, 3-13 last season, have in two weeks endured a pair of lopsided losses — a 38-3 drubbing by the Eagles in Week 1 and a 41-13 loss to the Giants on Sunday, in which they were outscored 28-7 in the second half and gave up six sacks.
Things are bad enough in St. Louis that Las Vegas has installed the Seahawks, who are also 0-2 and have been swamped by an early wave of injuries, as 10-point favorites.
Linehan’s best year with the Rams was his first, when they went 8-8 in 2006. He is 11-23 overall with the team — three games worse than Childress, who is 14-20 in his two-plus seasons with the Vikings.

This is what Childress was talking about when he said, “Don’t look at those blogs”
Damn internets with their instantaneous information sharing.
Wow, Chip Rosenbloom is one of those Rosenblooms.
That’s an…interesting family.
Linehan was once “one of us” … That means we must pull for him.
Wilf needs to light the torch under Childress’s seat.
do I need to change my name to “ticeback” ?
I’m willing to do it for the greater randball good if need be.
Is there a rule that both coaches can’t be fired? Childress has much better talent than Linehan.
The funny thing is Kiffin is going to be the first to go.
FIRE CHILLIE!
BRING BACK DENNY!
Oh, and…
DANCE!
Is it bad if I’m rooting for Linehan to be fired and subsequently brought back as our O Coordinator?
