Roughkat’s Fantasy Recap: No real analysis

vikings.jpgWe’re 3 weeks into the regular season of the RandBall Fantasy Football League and I’m sure most of you have been wondering where Roughkat’s update has been. Nobody knows what’s going on in the RBFFL Lite but I can bet it’s similar. Trying something different, I’m going to avoid using any movie quotes. Instead, I’ll steal one of Stu’s ideas.

The key of just about every fantasy football teams has to be your RBs, despite what Sin City Rollers thought last year or what JPF thought this year. For the record, neither of those two teams took a RB in one of the first 2 rounds. Some would argue that because of the growing tendency for NFL coaches to take the RB by committee approach to games that RBs aren’t as valuable. I disagree and think that having top RBs on your squad insures success. So let’s look at the top RBs drafted and who the top RBs are after week 10 and see if they are who we thought they were.

Top 10 RBs drafted
1. L. Tomlinson (Actual ranking: 16) (drafted by: Randball)
2. B. Westbrook (7) (Dave MN)
3. A. Peterson (11) (Super Rookie)
4. J. Addai (17) (roughkat)
5. M. Barber III (2) (Stu)
6. F. Gore (4) (Brandon)
7. M. Lynch (8) (Jon)
8. C. Portis (12) (Jon)
9. S. Jackson (28) (Brandon)
10. W. McGahee (55) (Ryan P)

Top 10 RBs after week 3
1. M. Turner (drafted: 19) (Sin City Rollers)
2. M. Barber III (5) (Stu)
3. R. Bush (20) (Stu)
4. F. Gore (6) (Brandon)
5. R. Brown (34) (Brandon)
6. M. Forte (35) (Jon)
7. B. Westbrook (2)
8. M. Lynch (7) (Jon)
9. J. Jones (24) (Dave MN)
10. W. Parker (27) (roughkat)

I don’t know if any of that means anything to be honest. We need a stat for clutch fantasy draft picks. What I can see is that Stu, Brandon, and Jon each have of 2 of the top 10 RBs in the league right now. Maybe it’s a coincidence, but they also are all in the top half of the standings.

Here’s the part where I share one of my drafting strategies. I draft a boatload of RBs and just hope that a couple pan out. You could be like Jon and just draft a couple of solid ones, but I’m not that smart. I go quantity instead. Which is why Parker’s injury hopefully won’t hurt me too much.

Prediction time:

RandBall will not remain in the gutters of the RBFFL for long. That #1 pick of LT will pay off over time.

I will lose and probably soon. I know this because my team usually stinks.

Jon will make the championship game once again. The guy is undefeated this year in defending his title. So are the Giants.

The RandBall shirts will be the envy of everyone.

What other predictions do you have? How is your team in the RBFFL B league doing? Is another position more important than RB?
