YouTube: Hockey moms against Sarah Palin

Regardless of your political affiliation, this spoof making the rounds on YouTube is funny. It’s funny because it’s clever and well-done. Please do enjoy the accents, wardrobes and everything in between:

It’s getting harder and harder to tell what’s a spoof and what’s a real political ad.

I heard a child ask her, “What’s the difference between icing and offsides?” She didn’t know.

At that same moment, thousands of miles away, the hair on the back of the Marth’s neck stood on end.

Funny..but that last woman (was she wearing purple) looked alot like a pouty pitbull to me. But, I pulled this real life info below from the PiPress today and might make it into my own YouTube…it seems Biden, a most real pitbull, said the nation’s leaders should follow the lead of FDR when during the stock market crash he got on tv to talk about the “Princes of Greed”…except Hoover was in power at the time of the crash (’29) and there was no tv (came in ”39) ….Funny then how this Biden guy jacks facts around, and does anyone think this liitle white lie will show up in the slimey Biden/pitbull Palin debate coming up ?

As funny as the video may have been, you had to know where this was going, Rand. I’m with jama on this one.

It’s not politics! It’s hoc-key! Don’t you see!

lattewarrior says:

I heart hockey moms but I’m with the mutineers on this one. The last thing I need today are the political ramblings of a madman who shall remain nameless (Psst … P3).

Wait, since when do we discuss hoc-key?

Excellent point.

They’re not even similar! They’re barely related! The ensuing faceoff is in different places for each!

Simpsons did it.

I’ll just go ahead and get this off my chest. CS’s “Boink-ability” Power Rankings:

1. Evelyn (pink sweater)
2. Denise (big earring trollop)
t-3. Debbie (santa sweater)
t-3. Patty (turtleneck and jugs)

Yes, I used the word “boink”.

Isn’t there video of the Lions fan getting chased around the stadium with the “Fire Matt Millen” sign from a few years ago?

jama says:

Found it. Even though it’s completely horrible video.

What slays me about all these spoofs is that most are not all that funny…OK SNL’s was, but most also carry a well disquised sword even if the cut is not meant to be stuck too deeply.

I brought up the Biden schtick since that guy, supposedly, is the heavy hitter of the two, the more experienced of his pairing (but Hell, how could could anyone be less experienced than Obee ? (Ok Palin, I know)), but the majority of crappola like this Youtube or esp. MSN cartoons and FirstReads go for the Republican throat. Is this funny ? I’m not even Republican and I don’t think so.

What if a cartoon/YouTube/SNL skit concerning Obee’s pals in Radical ChiTown or his rollicking Churchtimes with Rev. HairOnFire were to be written, would, say SNL run it ? Right. Does that mean most media leans left ? Duh…

I prefer CS talking about boinking to P3 talking about politics.

Latte, are you ok …”heart (sp) hockey moms” ? “mutineers” ?

lattewarrior says:

September 24th, 2008 at 11:38 am

Adhering to the Michael Rand Blog Reform Act of 2008, I will abstain from commenting on P3’s expert knowledge of what is not funny.

“Please do enjoy the accents”

They had accents?

Not talking politics, girls. Just talking how politics is ofeten laundered as humor …but only when left is skewered. You should know that process..Look at how easy it is to skewer Vikes, since, after all, isn’t that what you do to pigs after the lipstick comes off. Anyway, I thought this YouTube sucked. Sue me…I don’t need to agree with you..

Politics?

Pretty sure your paper has a forum for that.

Lets not ruin everything.

Next……

Paul Peter Paulos says:

September 24th, 2008 at 12:11 pm

good point, Roberto, but not quite. Do you think a posting about Sarah Palin, even in gest, is a good choice for these here parts. Maybe if it was drop down funny, and amazingly well balanced. It is neither, however, since everyone and his brother is jamming this Palin. So, sorry. That’s my vote. I hate YouTubes anyway, but I liked that one about Obee’s Rev HairOnFire going ballistic, and that one didn’t belong here either..and it didn’t

danonymous says:

September 24th, 2008 at 12:54 pm

Did P3 just chastise someone for complaining about a proprietor’s posting?

Shouldn’t the world have collapsed upon itself in spectaculor, soundless glory by now?

Paul Peter Paulos says:

September 24th, 2008 at 1:18 pm

Unfortunately in these ugly times, it is impossible to write anything “regardless of your political affiliation”. The world is going down the tubes and our choice of leaders is a “Maverick” by his own ill-defined advertising and a glib and facile younger man who can talk his way out of bag w/o ever knowing he was in one. I suggest YouTubes showing “funny” slices of politics belong with the kiddies on their Ipods. My suggestion
