The Friscalating Dusklight: Now or Never
Posted on September 30th, 2008 – 5:04 PMBy Michael Rand
We know what the kids like: baseball. Considering it’s 5 p.m. and it’s about 90 minutes to first pitch, we have to imagine this outdoor baseball game tonight will be a pretty big deal. So: open thread on Twins vs. White Sox. This one is make-or-break. No need to explain any further.
Talk amongst yourselfs, and guess along with Gardenhire’s hunches.

Why? Why would you do this? You know what happens. Couldn’t we have talked about candlepin bowling? We all like candlepin bowling.
Don’t forget to start Brandon Marshall… AWESOME!
Morneau comes through. If so (finally) it’s game, set and match, TWINS !
I’ve got your Final Countdown right here.
[redacted], I’m nervous.
I’m taking the Hiawatha up to the Dome shortly. I’m SO putting Final Countdown on my ipod now.
To steal a bit from Sports Guy, I will predict the following:
“Wait a minute… that’s… that’s Justin Morneau’s music!!”
Some tickets for a sporting event that could possibly occur on Sunday and shall remain nameless came in the mail today. Is this a sign of good luck or a dark omen???
Ernie Johnson.
They ripped off the Homer Hanky!!!! BASTARDS!!
Thank you for the base running blunder, Orlando.
Gah! How about making Danks work a bit boys??
oh crap, d-bag AJ is up
and out on first pitch, thank you AJ
I bet Eckersley drives a Trans Am.
Morneau is pressing WAY too much.
really 9 pitches gets out casilla, mauer and morneau (sigh), it’s going to be a long night regardless of the outcome
Gotta give Blackburn some support here. We can’t keep this up all night.
and jerry meels/meals makes the correct call
a marv alberts YES!
score some runs, twinkie, Blackburn can’t keep this up all night
We need to put at least 2 on the board this inning or my heart will not last the night. For seriously.
Is that… is that Chris Rock helping call the game? I thought he used to be funny.
I was just going to say Danks had a no-hitter going. Nevermind.
Maybe you should just about say that Danks has a shutout going newbie.
I should have said it.
Yes, by all means send the already slow OF with the broken foot on a pop to short center. What??
Cuddy should have gone for the glove, not the body there.
Aiiigh. How can AJ look like that big of a d-bag just by holding the ball up?
I don’t know Homey, but HE can.
*Hey everybody Danks has a 1 hit shut out going. And the Sox have not had an error, can everyone see that no error or runs allowed by the Sox. But don’t say anything we don’t want to jinx it.
C-Dog is very nervous. Three questions per minute. We’re listening to KSTP. Thanks for the local broadcast, [redacted] Bud.
@SCH: Because he’s a [redacted]ing [redacted].
Danks hasn’t allowed any homers either.
Hootie: Well said.
Come on Twins. You hit Danks all year when he was in my Fantasy team! Why stop now?
That’s it! I’m going bowling.
Quit showing it!
That’s what she said.
/couldn’t let that go.
i don’t like gardy’s kubel move. at least gomez has speed
Let’s get DENARDED?
time to get denarded. how can they even play, my heart is racing from the friendly confines of my couch
Wow. What a weak game at the plate. Embarassing.
I [redacted] hate the [redacted] Chicago White Sox.
Frank TV sucks.
I wish Cuddy had cleated AJ in the face on that slide.
“I [redacted] hate the [redacted] Chicago White Sox”..gotta agree, s1rweeze
for the last time: no swearing.
Welp, glad I couldn’t watch the end. When I left Wild Tymes for the concert it was 0-0 at the end of the 6th.
I learned by text message of the Twins suckitude. Yeah, let’s let Jim Thome (”The Twin Killer” who has hit 400 of his 540 home runs against the Twins) end our season. Did he bat again? If so, I hope we threw one at his head.
On a different note, I love this team. I’m actually looking forward to next year, which is something I can’t say I did wholeheartedly this year. The talent is excellent. Our rotation is pretty solid. I’m liking the outfield. Hopefully, we can get a power hitting third baseman (doubt it). 2009 will be another good year. Hopefully one with an undisputed division title at the end…
Let’s go Rays!
for the last time: no swearing.
I seriously doubt that this will be the last time.
Ok, I love the White Sox…in the Bizarro World !!!
