Roughkat’s fantasy update

roughkat.jpgWe’re 6 weeks into the season and I’ve received literally (no) hundreds of emails asking me for an update on the league. Here’s the current standings for all the crazy fans of the RBFFL. Let’s review what we know and what we don’t know. I’m somehow still leading the league standings at 5-1 despite the fact that 3 other teams have scored more points. Sometimes schedule plays a role in the standings (just ask the Vikings after last week’s win).

If you look at the Week 6 sheet, I put the Power Rankings below the actual standings. This is calculated by pitting every team against the other every week instead of the usual one team only plays one other team. The cream of the crop (crops have cream???) rise to the top showing us which teams score a lot of points on a consistent basis. Jon is on top and RandBall is still on the bottom. The Pugs and Rollers have clearly benefited from a slightly easier than average schedule while Team Venture has been hurt by a slightly more difficult schedule.

What does this mean? I see Team Venture making a rise in the standings while I will probably drop. I’d also like to note that Randball’s clutch rating is somewhere in the toilet. It’s just math, peoples.

Questions:
Who has been the biggest sleeper so far this year?
Biggest bust?
What’s the best (clean) team name you’ve heard this year?

Proving that fantasy is a crapshoot: I may be first in the power rankings and Rand may be last, but in Week 4, he absolutely DESTROYED me.

UofM2010’s Fantasy Update: still haven’t slept with Sarah Palin. Damn.

I think the best team name I’ve heard so far this year is a 3-way tie between “Bi-Curious George”, “Short Bus Window-Lickers”, and “Loaded Steakhouses” (in honor of the tasty Burger King sandwich).

A broken clock is correct twice a day.

Sports Guy had an email from a reader that mentioned the team name “2 Mannings 1 Cup”. That seems like a good one.

I’d also like to note that RBFFL JV league didn’t even use team names and instead just used their commentor names. That’s why they are JV.

I might be JV next season. No one should have to make 14 moves in 6 weeks…

RandBall Lite Update (because nobody asked):

Pass the Mike M. (6-0) is dominating the dojo behind the power of Clinton Portis and Frank Gore. JRG (5-2), led by Drew Brees, has quietly put together four straight victories to climb into sole possession of second place. Joker, newbie and lattewarrior are all 4-2.

Ty Webb and Stensation are 2-4, while danonymous, Hootie and jama are all 1-5.

So if the last-place team in RandBall gets demoted to RandBall Lite, where does the last-place finisher of RandBall Lite get banished to? Remedial fantasy football?

Sorry, JRG’s record is 5-1.

Wait, what? They have a receiver already complaining about get no attention so they add another? That a 40 year old QB has to throw to?

I am the biggest sleeper.

This is because I have yet to watch a full NFL game without falling asleep.

I don’t know how to put this..but, my team (Pass the Mike M.)has been kind of a big deal so far this season in the RandBall Lite division:

Record: 6-0
Total Points: 705
Avg. pts per game: 117.5
Power Ranking: 51-3

Take that to the bank! Oh, wait…you mean we’re not playing for any money?! Shapoopie!

/Pass the Mike M. jinx commencing
