We’ve mentioned Pacman Jones’ name here on several occasions, mostly in a negative light. But we have to say this of his latest plight: Pacman is getting hosed. He’s being suspended indefinitely, a minimum of four games, for a squabble with his bodyguard. From ESPN:

The verdict is in: Pacman is out again.

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones has been suspended for at least four games for his most recent violation of the league’s personal conduct policy, the NFL announced Tuesday.

The league said Jones was involved in an alcohol-related incident at a Dallas hotel on Oct. 8. Previous reports indicated Jones was involved in an alcohol-related scuffle with a bodyguard assigned to him by the Cowboys, and that hotel employees called the police.

Jones will not be paid during the suspension. Commissioner Roger Goodell will determine the ultimate length of Jones’ suspension after Dallas’ Week 11 game against Washington on Nov. 16.

Sorry, but this kind of extreme zero tolerance seems to cross a line from monitoring a player’s conduct to making a slip-up an inevitability — or even something, in a wild scenario, that could be instigated by a rival team hoping to weaken another squad. At some point, there is going to be a backlash from players. We don’t think that point is too far off.
