In case you missed it last night, Chris Berman’s interviews with Barack Obama and John McCain were played at halftime of MNF. Both candidates handled things pretty well, though we will say Obama looked a little haggard and McCain’s “could … go … all … the … way” soundbite and subsequent Berman smarmy face made us want to throw up in our mouths quite a bit. But if the candidates were trying to score points with sports fans when lobbed the question of the one thing they would change in sports, we have to say Obama wins with his support of a college football playoff. “We’ll deal with the economy. We’ll deal with the war in Iraq. But first, we’ll clean up this BCS mess!” Obama said. (OK, he didn’t actually say that). McCain? He wants to clean up steroids, which is all well and good until you examine the travesty of how Texas Tech can jump over Penn State in the BCS. Steroids are depressing, senator! Let’s fix college football! In any event, here is video of the pair.
