Off-topic: Garfield minus Garfield

garfield.pngAs we grind toward the holiday, we have to share one of our favorite recently discovered sites: Garfield Minus Garfield. It describes itself thusly:

Garfield Minus Garfield is a site dedicated to removing Garfield from the Garfield comic strips in order to reveal the existential angst of a certain young Mr. Jon Arbuckle. It is a journey deep into the mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against loneliness and depression in a quiet American suburb.

Please do enjoy. Any other favorite, strange, non-sports out there? Send them our way via e-mail.

I’ll bet Jon Arbuckle drinks Miller High Life.

Is Garfield still published daily? What about Beattle Bailey? Hagar the Horrible? B.C.? I always enjoyed Wiley’s Dictionary.

1) xkcd.com
2) e-mail? send them via e-mail? aren’t we supposed to use the comments? this is the only way I ever talk to roughkat anymore.
3) I suggest the following until the comment username swap syndrome (CUSS) is resolved:

I am muxhut, and I approve this comment.

I’m a fan of Fail Blog . and The “Blog” of “Unnecessary” Quotation Marks.

The Sneeze is also solid. Everyone should read at least one “Steve, Don’t Eat It!”

/spends too much time on the internet.
//is afraid this will change with new job.

I’m awesome at spelling. The Sneeze can be found at http://www.thesneeze.com as opposed to http://www.thesheese.com like I put in my link above (crazy, right?)

I’m MR, and I approve muxhut’s suggestion of xkcd.com.

Be warned that there is bad language all over xkcd, and many of them (especially really early ones) are VERY geeky jokes. Also, after reading the comic, make sure to mouseover it to get the alt text, which is usually a second joke.

Apologies to Rand for the failure at reading comprehension- do you still want them e-mailed, or are we now just having a free-for-all linkfest in the comments?

Garfield minus Garfield is fantastic, BTW.

I don’t watch TMZ, nor do I read Perez Hilton, but I do enjoy http://www.wwtdd.com and the brutal musings of its author.

Beware of nudity and foul language. If easily offended, best not to visit.

Dah, go ahead and just send them in the comments. I was going to gather them up and use them one at a time, but this is just as well.
