Friday (anybody around?) edition: Wha’ Happened?
Posted on November 28th, 2008 – 10:47 AMBy Michael Rand
Hey kids — just taking the temperature and seeing who exactly is at work today and who might even be checking us out via their “home computer.” Possible topics for discussion today:
*Just how terrible Daunte Culpepper is, and how little the Lions care.
*Why the Lions’ complete disdain should make Vikings fans even more terrified about next week’s game.
*Why the winner of the NFC North will likely be the No. 3 seed in the playoffs and therefore get the worst of the wild card winners, given just how terrible Arizona has looked recently. Seriously, the Cardinals might win that division with an 8-8 record.
*Which of these three QBs makes the most sense for the Vikings next year: Matt Cassel, Derek Anderson or Donovan McNabb.
*The deliciousness of pie.
We’ll post a couple more times today if there seems to be an audience. If not, we’ll let this long weekend play itself out and come back strong on Monday.

RE: Daunte. He has to stop and catch his breath halfway through getting his roll on. Then he eats a sandwich with some gravy. Then he finishes the celebration.
(Also, Calvin Johnson is supernatural. There is no other explanation for being that productive in that cesspool. Barry Sanders should talk to him about this ends.)
RE: disdain. I’m skirred, too, but watching Dwight Smith “try” to tackle Chris Johnson yesterday lessens that feeling somewhat. The Vikings should maybe look into doing something similar with their running game.
RE: Arizona. I’m still convinced they’ll beat us by a couple touchdowns.
RE: QB. Cassel, don’t you think?
RE: Pie. Pecan pie is a mysterious, beautiful creation.
s/b “about how this ends.” Too much stuffing.
Before I forget: Macy’s Parade RickRoll. It really happened.
The Lions are horrible and should not be allowed to step on the field until the get it together. Seriously, it’s embarrasing to Barry Sanders.
McNabb makes the most sense. Cassell is playing for the Patriots and the best coach in the league. Anderson is done.
Pie = tasty.
That is all.
Big Stone County: now with pie and the intarweb!
And one 13-1 football team.
Hello from south of Clear Lake, en route to Mrs Fasolamatt’s family compound. Pie report: cranberry pecan, apple, and pumpkin, all with real hand whipped cream. Yum o rama. Didn’t watch any NFL, which appears to have been a good move.
Wave when you drive past my house, Matthew. (I’m aboot 8 blocks off of Highway 10.)
Alas, Stu: Clear Lake, Iowa…
1. How bad does Drew Stanton have to be to not get a shot?
2. Peterson will run for 212 yards if healthy after this weekend.
3. The Cards will finish 10-6 with wins over Seattle, Minnesota, and St. Louis while losing to the Pats.
4. If Childress is still here McNabb will be the next QB. Otherwise none of those 3 will be with the Vikes. Keep an eye on the Vince Young Experiment coming to MN next year.
5. Way too much pie caused a sugar coma.
Say hi to Buddy Holly, then.

Look out your bedroom window.
Banana Cream Pie is a glorious creation.
I have this picture of Ramon outside Rand’s place, boom box held aloft, playing their song (which, it being Rand, is “Space Humping 19.99″).
He’s my Randball pie.
Cool drink of water,
Such a sweet suprise.
Tastes so good
Makes ramon cry.
Sweet Randball pie.
Stu - while wearing baggy jeans and my old Tony Campbell Wolves jersey.
Apparently I wasn’t enough of an audience - so I brought little Ramon over to help out (under the auspices we’d get some eggrolls).

Still no more posts.
I am bad at Fantasy Football. That is all. Next season, matchups be damned, I’m sticking with the same lineup all year (only making changes for injury and bye weeks). I will undoubtedly do better.
