You want them on that Wall; you need them on that Wall?

The court decision that at least delays the suspension of the Williams Wall and three Saints players has many implications. Our immediate question, dealing strictly with on-field issues, is this: if this is merely a stopgap and judge Paul Magnuson eventually rules next week or at least in the near future to uphold the suspensions — keep in mind, this ruling by no means safeguards the players for the rest of the year, it merely means the judge wants more time to collect information — isn’t this potentially the worst of both worlds for the Vikings? If you root for the Purple, you wanted a swift decision today in either direction: either uphold the suspensions and let the players serve them in the final four games or rule against the NFL, thus setting off a chain of events that likely would ensure the players would, at worst, wait until next year to serve their four games and at best not serve any time at all. Now there exists the real possibility that the Williams Wall would be around for a game against a winless team but not around for a playoff game. And yes, the suspensions would extend into the playoffs, or at least so it says right here.
