Gus Frerotte will start at QB if he’s healthy on Sunday, Brad Childress said. Now, that’s still a big “if,” and we wonder if this isn’t subterfuge on Childress’ part (he avoids a full-blown controversy by making this dependent on Frerotte’s health, even though he might already know Gus will not play). That said, if the coach is playing this straight-up, what do you think: is Gus the man, or do you want T-Jack again?

Follow-up: If Gus is out for an extended period, are you comfortable with Booty as your No. 2? If not, show us a capable emergency veteran who is available. (If he’s done being hurt and itching to hold a clipboard, we kind of like Steve McNair in a pinch, but that’s just us).
