Tuesday (Erin Andrews, Mike Tice and Carl Pohlad) edition: Wha’ Happened?

The greatness and magnitude of Ramon’s COW yesterday allowed us to start storing up items like nuts for the winter. Let’s dispatch a few right now:
*In case you missed it, USC’s Rey Maualuga decided to have some impromptu fun at the expense of ESPN’s Erin Andrews during the Rose Bowl. A couple different folks have sent this in, so it’s time to run it. We’ll say this: We hope that was a dance, as the L.A. Times suggests. If not, it goes from being a little funny to a lot creepy and inappropriate.
*Death brings out the best and worst of people. Unfortunately, we read some of the worst right after the story of Twins owner Carl Pohlad was posted on Startribune.com yesterday. Regardless of what you thought of Pohlad the man or the owner when he was alive, dancing on someone’s grave is crass at best.
*It was an entertaining fourth quarter in the Fiesta Bowl, but in the end — with a Texas comeback negating an equally impressive Ohio State comeback — the Big Ten fell to 1-6 in bowl games this year, 9-20 over the past four years and 0-6 in its recent BCS matchups. That’s what we call a trend, not a mirage.
*Former Twins pitcher J.C. Romero received a 50-game suspension for what looks to be similar to the Williams Wall situation. Considering MLB’s drug policy is about as confusing as the NFL’s, this should be resolved around June of 2010.
*And finally, from TheDirty.com (a site that uses a PR firm to send out links even though it is so shocking it is blocked when we try to log on at work) comes a clip of (allegedly) former Vikings coach Mike Tice and several fans singing “God Bless America.” They seem to have enjoyed a little fermented grape prior to their performance. To be clear: there is absolutely nothing wrong with this (except maybe the tone-deafness). We just thought you might get a little laugh out of it. Here we go:
