Weekend Links with Jon Marthaler

weekendlinks1.jpgGreetings once again, as I fill in for Rand because he’s too busy looking smug. I might start today with a paragraph about last night’s Gopher hockey game, but whoops, there wasn’t one! I WILL HEAR NO ARGUMENTS!

Let’s just get on with a few links:

*Spencer Hall is positively glowing after Florida’s second national title in three years. It’s that feeling that all of us sports fans chase; no matter how impossible it seems that we’ll ever reach that summit, we keep plugging away, because maybe this will be the year. (And never mind that most of our teams here in Minnesota have been chasing that for upwards of 40 years.)

*Vikes Geek is not happy with the impending return of Brad Childress … but thinks that Matt Cassel might fit in well in purple.

*John Bonnes wants to know: if we’re spending so much money on a stadium and attendance was way up last year and will be way up for the foreseeable future, how come the Twins’ payroll is actually *shrinking*?

*Everyone knows that the Timberwolves are suddenly better… but Britt Robson knows why. (Hint: the more Rashad McCants sits, the better.)

That’s probably enough for one week, especially since the Proprietor has been taking care to include a hockey link every day. (I think I’ve finally made a difference around here.) Enjoy your weekend, and remember: the football games don’t start until 3:30 today. Make sure to take care of all other obligations by then.
