As far as the Proprietor, he had the sense to hire a stunt double this winter, so we didn’t miss him that much.

Simon and Randy decided to let her through before she even sang. I mean, I know that it fits with the convenient stereotype that “guys are shallow”, but that was not the proudest moment for a show that proclaims itself to be looking for “talent”.

I watched “Idol” last night - I’m not a fan by any stretch, but I like to watch the audition portion to see how wretched and deluded some of the hopefuls are. After they go to Hollywood I shut it off because once the trainwrecks are gone, there’s nothing to see.

Jon: You guys were all on the phone! I didn’t want to interrupt the flow. Plus I was dog tired and had to drive LQ home. About a minute after we left the building, LQ realized his brother was probably working that night. He felt pretty bad about that.

Or, we could talk American Idol like everyone else. Celia watched some of it, because she appreciates modern pop music and schadenfreude. The CMS and I just can’t stomach it, but she did let us know that someone did a really good job on “the Guitar Hero song” (Barracuda, it seems), and that some girl sang a song in a bikini.

So, yeah. Thank you, Phoenix!
