markprice.jpgLattewarrior — who incidentally is up next with a COW post — alerts us to a line Bill Simmons slipped into his latest mailbag:

Ben Woodside is the next Mark Price and you can’t tell me differently.

Mark Price was a four-time All-Star and is generally considered one of the greatest shooters in NBA history. While conventional wisdom probably suggests a very small guard from a very small conference won’t be able to play in the NBA, Woodside seems to be a special talent. And, on top of that, The Sports Guy is no slouch when it comes to hoops knowledge.

That said: is he being seduced by Woodside’s great NCAA tournament game (like so many of us were) and neglecting the unfortunate facts about The Association, or can this shot-maker from Albert Lea carve out a niche — and then some — among the trees?

(Obvious oversight, by the way: no Simmons comparison involving Rico Tucker, the player the Gophers and Dan Monson recruited instead of Woodside. We’re thinking LeBron James or Kobe Bryant. D-Wade at the very least).

(Closed-circuit to Fasolamatt: Price seems to be holding some sort of trophy while simultaneously wearing a Cavs jersey. That confuses and frightens us. Is that for winning a 3-point shootout? Please advise).
