hanson.JPGIn the best Slap Shot-related news since either A) we saw the movie Saturday during the midnight showing or B) it was announced that all copies of “Slap Shot II: Breaking the Ice” were being destroyed while Stephen Baldwin looked on, Christian Hanson of the Maple Leafs scored his first NHL goal last night (photo, Getty). Hanson is, of course, the son of Dave Hanson, one of the three “Hanson Brothers” of movie fame. Said Christian Hanson of the big goal, which came on a back-hander:

To be honest I would have taken it any way it would have gone in. Off my head, off my butt, off my skate, and luckily it went off my stick.

The story says he hoped to speak with his father after the game. No word on whether he tried to call Dad afterward on a pay phone, only to complain loudly that the “[redacted] machine had taken his quarter.”
