If anyone is interested in getting a little political today with a post or link, Newsweek.com has a great story about the late Jack Kemp:

It primarily talks about how the GOP would be better off if they didn’t cast Kemp aside in his hey-day. But also contains quotes like this:

“He took being sidelined in stride, an attitude he credited to his career in pro-football. Asked in 1970 what qualified him to be a member of Congress, he said, “Pro football gave me a good sense of perspective to enter politics: I’d already been booed, cheered, cut, sold, traded and hung in effigy.”

So how about it? And as an off-shoot, any current athletes you could imagine someday running for office?
