Dave MN, the ultimate Gophers supporter, points us to the rather impressive pictures of TCF Bank Stadium and the progress being made. The shot you see, from this good sir’s Twitpic page, is said to be the view from the student section.

We don’t really recall the view from the student section at the Metrodome, probably because going to a college football game in that building never really appealed to us during our five (!) years on campus.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: this market is about to go from stadium-poor to stadium-rich in a hurry when TCF and Target Field open up.

Remember: Less than 20 years ago, we had four pro sports and a major college football team playing in the Met Center, Target Center and Metrodome. That’s not to say that sports teams deserve palaces, but once they’re built they sure are nice.
