TFD: Chicks dig the RandBall longball
Posted on June 1st, 2009 – 5:14 PMBy Michael Rand
Remember a couple months ago when a reader named Randall asked permission to use the *cough* great RandBall name for his softball jersey? Well, this thing is really paying off. He wrote in recently with an update.
Mr. Rand,
You will be pleased to hear, after granting me permission to use your namesake on the back of my softball jersey, I have now evened my season home run total with the legendary Craig Counsell. Critics may say that while Mr. Counsell’s home run actually left the confines of the ballpark, Randball’s HR was the a cleanly hit double that was not cleanly fielded. I say Bah to those critics. Randball’s HR was clutch (the other team had just rallied to get within one run) AND Randball was pitch-hitting for the team’s best hitter (who crushes a homer every at bat).
Let’s see Counsel perform under that pressure.
Amen. Your witness, Counsell.

Counsel? I’ve been calling him Counsell.
It’s all about the stance boys.
Randall’s Clutchosity for the year is in the mid 500s.
Only the mid-500s?
Since you didn’t ask, Randall’s “RandBall” Clutchosity Index value is “kettle corn.”
Stu: you forgot to carry the four. It’s “french toast”.
