TFD: Hey, thanks for the beverages …

pop.JPGIn the midst of an insanely busy day, which we’re trying to burn through in order to safely attend tonight’s Twins game with Newbie, Hootie and MC Creme Fraiche, we received a call from the Star Tribune front security desk around 4:30. “Um, Mr. Rand … someone just dropped off a bunch of soda for you.”

Perplexed, Part I.

So we headed down to the first floor slightly bewildered. And true to the guard’s word, there was a case of carbonated beverage waiting for us. That was strange enough until we looked at the piece of paper atop it. As you can see, it’s our name, with a heart and an arrow through it.

Perplexed (and a little nervous), Part II.

So much of us wanted to open that piece of paper immediately. And yet so much of us wanted to throw it away, along with the possibly poisoned drinks. Finally … we decided to have a look. And it all made sense. It was a special delivery from a friend of ours in PR working on a new campaign.

Since we aren’t shills (at least not on company time), we won’t divulge the name/brand. But rest assured, after parking very illegally twice today, spending time with a sweaty Tim Brewster and a calm David Kahn, this was possibly our biggest thrill.

So yeah, thanks for the beverages.
