At a popular convenience store in Wisconsin … a man, a plan, a canal, Panama? … No: a man (early 20s?), a plan, a softball jersey. In the front: unbuttoned or cut off (can’t remember which) to show off plenty of chest hair. In the back, when he turned to use the ATM, reveals this: He is No. 5, he is about 5-foot-6, and he is “Beast.” We take out the phone carefully and pretend to be looking at a text message when really we’re taking a picture. Too dark! We try again … barely readable, but it will have to do. He is Beast.

Long story short: we are here in Milwaukee. We are safely behind enemy lines. Three Twins/Brewers games await. And hopefully, we have seen the last of Beast.
