the-commmentary.jpgWell, we have to say: yesterday’s comment thread was one of the most enjoyable we have experienced/read in a long time. Congratulations to all the strange, strange people out there who also like to make up fake bands and/or lyrics. As a special bonus to yesterday’s theme, Clarence Swamptown created that RandBall Music Festival poster. We made the type a little small since, you know, some of the fake band names you all have come up with over the years are at least vaguely offensive. Suffice to say, you know what they are if you paid attention yesterday. We would also be remiss if we didn’t mention our other previous “band”: The 65-pound Punks, featuring us and Rocket. This was about 10 years ago. We actually recorded some songs, all of them about our friends, some of them featuring a percussion section that amounted to one of us pounding on an ottoman. One of the key songs was “Vacancy,” which was about one of our good friends who wouldn’t step up with the ladies. The lyrics implied that there might be something missing in his pants.

Since the subject seemed to have plenty of steam, we thought we’d see if there was any Day 2 magic left. We ask: if you were to really put on the RandBall Music Festival, what would be your ideal location? What would be some essential features of this festival? Or, if you are done pretending, what is your ideal “real” music festival spot/lineup?

We’ll jump on once more, likely in the early afternoon, to post some of Stu’s goodness. For now, please don’t stop the music.
