Our summer hitting all of the world’s top destinations continues this upcoming weekend when we head to Appleton, Wis., for a few days. Yes, we’ve already checked out such global hot-spots as Milwaukee, Grand Marais (OK, that actually is a destination) and Grand Forks. Next up is Appleton, followed by Le Mars, Iowa, possibly followed again by a casino in northern Minnesota. On the Iowa trip, we will be making a foray into South Dakota as well. We have all the bordering states surrounded!

The big news, though, is how the social calendar of one RandBall proprietor and the football calendar of one Brett “Uncle Rico” Favre could coincide. We thought for a long time he would make his decision on the Wednesday after the MLB All-Star game. But with that contest come and gone, along with his promise of making a decision by July 30, we have to wonder if we will, indeed, be in Appleton — mere minutes from Lambeau — when Favre makes the call, once and for all, to don the purple.
