The introductory sentence on Wikipedia for the man introduced today as your new Wolves head coach reads thusly:
Darrell Kurt Rambis (AKA Kyriakos Rambidis, Kiriakos Rambidis) (in Greek: Κυριάκος Ραμπίδης; born February 25, 1958) is a retired American professional basketball player and current head coach for the National Basketball Association’s Minnesota Timberwolves.
We can only assume Kyriakos translates roughly into “extra short shorts.”
Just another reason basketball coaches don’t wear the uniform, a la baseball managers.

I haven’t trusted a Kyriakos since Victor schemed to break up Bo and Carly.

Kyriakos. That’s a cool name. He should start a blog where the remaining supporters of a failed concept like the Minnesota Timberwolves can get together every day to complain. Maybe he could call it “The Daily Kos” or something like that, it’s kind of catchy.

Kurt Rambis the former Lakers player doesn’t look anything like “Kurt Rambis” the former Lakers assistant and now Timberwolves head coach. The stark difference in appearance cannot be entirely explained by a clean shaven face and a stylish hair cut. Has Kyriakos had a little work done?
Good luck, Coach, and welcome to Timberwolves Nation, but hang on to your LA house. You’re a great hire, but the sad truth is that Red Auerbach assisted by Pat Riley and Chuck Daley couldn’t revive this mortally wounded, irrelevant basketball franchise.
The Fairness Doctrine guys called and said I got to rip on the other side too so maybe something with “Little Green Baketballs” or “PowerForwardLineBlog” or um something i’ll just keep thinking about it.
I wasn’t an NBA fan in the 80’s, and maybe everyone already noticed this and I am late to the party, but is Kahn just constantly trying to figure out how to give the biggest F.U. to McHale? Almost all of his players are already gone. Wasn’t Rambis the anti-McHale? Is Kahn going to slaughter ostriches wearing #32 Celtic jerseys at center court during halftime? (that would be kinda cool, actually)
