SuperRookie knows how to run a clean campaign

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

SuperRookie voted for Rocket, and indeed the zinger about Tiger and his beloved was hilarious. But by volume, and by force of a very solid take on both riding the roof of a car and the “original” sports story, SuperRookie wins the inaugural Commenter Of the Week award. We capitalize “Of” and lowercase “the” so it can be called the COW award. Aren’t cows great? Anyway, SuperRookie, send your post by 9 a.m. Friday to mrand@startribune.com … Try not to fill up an entire page. 300 words would be a nice ballpark to shoot for. Thanks to everyone for playing. We’ll do it again next week, and perhaps for infinity, or perhaps somewhere in between those two benchmarks. Stay safe, and look forward to some very special “dispatches” from Lambeau Field tomorrow, courtesy of a close personal friend of RandBall.Â

Commenter of the week

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

It’s a tight race right now. SuperRookie, by sheer volume, has made a strong push. Sassbottom wins points for referencing Phil Mickelson’s need for a bro. Rocket has provided moments of clarity (which can be repeated) and hilarity (which cannot). Others are also in the mix. We’re currently mulling it over. You have one more hour to wow us. The prize, as stated earlier, is a free guest post tomorrow, using your keen nickname. The winner will be announced at 4:30, at which time instructions on how to get the posting to me will be provided. If you feel you need some inspiration, check out this: your youtube love of the day.
