RandBall Feud

Wednesday (Favre + The Feud) edition: Wha’ Happened?

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

favre.JPGA very special edition of RandBall Feud, now that Brett Favre has been released by the Jets. Remember, his release means he is free to go to any team, and that team doesn’t have to give any other team compensation. Also remember, top four answers on the board. 40-30-20-10 scoring. Stu scored a 180 yesterday and would have thrown a perfect game if he didn’t love Delmon Young so much.

1) Within 10 percent, what is the likelihood Brett Favre plays next season.

2) Within 10 percent, what is the likelihood Brett Favre plays for the Vikings next season.

3) Within 10 percent, how strongly should a Vikings fan want Favre in Purple next season?

4) Within 10 percent, how good is Favre right now compared to when he was at his peak?

5) If Favre was on the Vikings, what would your ranking of rostered QBs be, in order of best to worst? (That includes Booty, T-Jack, Favre, Sage).

Tuesday (RandBall Feud) Edition: Wha’ Happened?

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

feud.jpgTop four answers on the board, in descending point values of 40, 30, 20, 10. Best possible score for five questions is 200. Last time we played, UofM2010 scored a 180, which he then traded in for five extra credit points in his sports and recreation class. Now everyone else in the class is mad at him for blowing the curve. Anyway, the Feud:

1) Within 10 percent, what percentage of snaps will MarQueis Gray take at QB for the Gophers this fall?

2) Which three Twins outfielders (not counting DH Jason Kubel) should be regulars?

3) The Vikings ranked 17th in total offense last season. Give what they’ve done in the draft, where do you think they will rank next season — within three places.

4) Tonight is the first All You Can Eat game at the Dome this season. How many hot dogs is one too many?

5) Within three, how many games will the Timberwolves win next season?

4) Within a range of 5, how many runs batted in will Jason Kubel finish the season with, assuming he stays healthy?

Wednesday (RandBall Feud) edition: Wha’ Happened?

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

feud.JPGThis morning seems like a good time to debut a new feature we’ve been mulling over called “RandBall Feud,” which is *certainly not* derivative of a television game show. Here’s how it will work: we will put out five subjective questions, and we will determine the four best answers to those questions (possibly with help from our suveys … er … faithful readers). Those answers will have four potential point values: 40, 30, 20 and 10 depending on how good they are. Five questions, 40 points max for each one, so 200 is the best score possible. Here we go:

1. On a scale of 1-10, how important was the Twins’ comeback victory over Seattle last night, which allowed the team to avoid falling to 0-2 to start the season?

2. What five-percentage point range (e.g. 80-85) best describes the Wild’s chances of making the playoffs?

3. If the Wolves end up with the No. 6 pick in the NBA draft, who will they wind up choosing?

4. How many games will the Vikings win this season?

5. If he’s healthy for all 16 games, give the 100-yard range (e.g. 4,200-4,300) for how many rushing yards Adrian Peterson have in the upcoming season.

Our answers and discussion around 11. Please try to get your answers in the comments by then. Not sure yet what the winner gets aside from boasting rights for a day.
