Roadguy has been focusing on fighting an outbreak of blogspam instead of writing a new post, but he hopes to have something up later today. In the meantime, here are some transportation-related events for your consideration, including an entire day’s worth on Thursday….
- Transit in the southwest suburbs: State officials will be in Burnsville on Wednesday evening to gather input on transit in the southwest suburbs. The forum is from 7-9 p.m. at Burnsville’s City Hall. More info is available here (from Transit for Livable Communities, a.k.a. TLC) and here (from state Sen. John Doll’s office).
- Thursday, Part I — Transit Breakfast: This event will be held from 8-9 a.m. at the Kelly Inn in St. Paul. Cost is $10, with a limited number of scholarships available. More info is here at TLC’s website.
- Thursday, Part II — Luncheon on Teen Drivers: “Myths and Misconceptions About the Young Driver Problem and Its Solutions” is the keynote topic at the winter luncheon of the University of Minnesota’s Center for Transportation Studies. It’s at the Radisson hotel on campus; cost is $5-$10 for students and $30 for others. More info is here.
- Thursday, Part III — Improving Uptown: The latest meeting on Uptown’s future will take place in the former Border’s bookstore in Calhoun Square from 7-9 p.m. It’s not purely a transportation event, but parking, bikes and transit are always big topics in Uptown. A PDF about the event is here; more information about the city’s Uptown planning process is here.
- Transit in St. Cloud: A town hall forum on transit will be held Saturday starting at 10 a.m. at a senior citizen’s center; click here for details (again via TLC’s events list).
