  • Bike/Walk to Work Day is tomorrow: Twenty organized bike rides and eight organized walks will be converging on downtown Minneapolis on Friday morning, and several similarly people-powered groups in St. Paul will end up at Rice Park. Click here for the event’s website and here for information from the city of Minneapolis. (If you go, take your camera and send Roadguy some pictures.)
  • Last few days to vote: If you haven’t checked out the five finalists in the Department of Public Safety’s teen TV commercial contest, you can do so here. The topic is distracted driving; voting ends this weekend.
  • Dial that license plate? A Twin Citian on a group blog called Technology Evangelist mentions the idea of putting cell-phone numbers on license plates as a way to, uh, improve communication between drivers; he also takes a look at the concept of being a “hypermiler.” Click here.
  • Speaking of license plates: Minnesota’s “critical habitat” plate got a redo after complaints about its portrayal of a fish; click here for the Strib story.
  • Fashion on two wheels: Tired of looking like a “human billboard” when you bicycle? Click here for a Strib story about a local company that takes a more fashionable approach to “bikewear.”
  • Gasoline links: The Strib’s Web Search blog offers some fuel-minded websites here.
  • Going east on Hwy. 10 in Coon Rapids overnight? Click here.
  • Hate tolls? You’re not alone — drivers in China are going to great lengths to avoid paying them. Click here for a New York Times story.
