A gas pump with a secret

The other day, Roadguy received this anecdote from someone we’ll call A Certain Colleague:
En route to my son’s school Thursday morning, I noticed that unleaded gas at my favorite low-price station was $3.09. Heading home a few minutes later, I realized the price dropped to $3.07, so I pulled in because the price in this neighborhood [on St. Paul’s East Side] tends to increase on Thursdays or Fridays. However, at the pump, the price was an astonishing $2.07.
As I filled up, I asked the woman at the car behind me what the price was on her pump. She confirmed $2.07 as she grabbed the hose from the pump. We both smiled at our good fortune.
The typo translated to my credit-card statement. After the way the gas industry has been sticking it to us, I didn’t feel compelled to tell the attendant (and neither did the woman at the other pump). Did I do the right thing?
Good question, and here’s another: What would you, the Roadguy reader, have done? Have at it in the comments below.
