Links: Transportation unhappiness
Posted on September 26th, 2007 – 2:46 PMBy Roadguy
The pursuit of happiness is taking a beating this week:
- A Washington County commissioner is unhappy with the condition of bridges in her community.
- The governor and the Legislature are unhappy with each other about state funding for construction projects.
- Some DFL leaders are so unhappy with Transportation Commissioner Carol Molnau that they’re calling for her removal.
- Two losing bidders are more unhappy this week than they were last week and have expressed their additional unhappiness to the state.
- Nick Coleman is unhappy with lots of what MnDOT does; his last two columns on transportation-related unhappiness are here and here.
- Joe Soucheray at the Pioneer Press is unhappy with how the bridge contract was awarded; his two most recent columns are here and here.
- Santiago Calatrava is unhappy that his designs didn’t make the cut, and he’s contacted the governor about it.
- Transportation officials around the country are unhappy about “borderline hysteria” over the condition of bridges.
If you’ve got some transportation-related unhappiness to share (or, for a change of pace, have a link to any sort of happy development), please share below.
