Hop on — if you can find a seat

BusStopSign.jpgMetro Transit announced today that ridership in 2007 was the highest it’s been since 1982 — more than 77 million rides, up 3.4 million rides from 2006. (A short Strib story is here.) Roadguy can take credit for at least eight of those rides — he made a couple of round trips on the bus to take his car in for service, he took the bus to work one day in a snowstorm, he rode light rail partway home from the airport in April, and he made a latenight round-trip on the train in July when he was writing a story that we talked about here. (He is pretty sure that his attempt to drive a bus in September is not part of the total.)

If you’re part of the great transit surge, or have always been a bus or train rider, tell us all about it in the comments below, and offer your predictions for 2008.
