So I put together this list of links last week, and then there were server problems, so I never published the post. Better late than never, I guess…

  • Street sweeping in Minneapolis: It starts today; you can look up the street of your choice here.
  • Street signs: Alert reader John and his camera have been out and about in the metro area to capture street signs of presidents and states — he’s got almost a complete set of each.
  • Like a skyway: A plan for a “skybridge” in Salt Lake City is drawing ire; a link from alert reader Steve is here.
  • Nicollet Mall to close: Maintenance work starts next week; a city news release is here.
  • The Minnesota Bike Summit is coming: Click here for a PDF of the registration form.
  • “Green” concrete, translucent concrete, and a motorcycle jacket that inflates like an airbag: Roadguy read blurbs about these three inventions in, of all places, an in-flight magazine in South America. The full article is here, while the Italian website for the airbags, which apparently work for both motorcyclists and equestrians, is here.
  • Underwater transit: Old New York subway cars are in demand for artificial reefs; a NY Times story is here.
