Why do people insist upon celebrating death and tragedy? Remember this, remember that. It happened; pause, grieve, reflect to learn, and move on.

So it's fine that they made it, but you're still annoyed with the people who buy it.......

That's fine that the made it. Good for them. I'm not surprised someone exploited it.

My "never forget" commentary is directed more at people who share that sentiment - and buy the shirt because of it. We have entire industries and professions who take advantage of this sort of sentiment. For example, politicians.

C'mon Prof. This is capitalism at its best. I'm surprised you're being critical.

They saw an opportunity, they're trying to make a buck

It's the American way!

I've always laughed at these shirts. Never forget what? The bridge falling? Of course I won't, since I'll see the new bridge.

I don't want to be crass, but I just have a VERY hard time comparing a bridge naturally falling and (tragically) killing 13 with a calculated attack on innocent people that killed 3,000.

In 2006, 494 people died in car accidents in Minnesota alone. Based on that rate, approximately 390 people have died in car accidents since the bridge fell - 30x's the number who died on the bridge. I don't see any memorial for them.

Let's get some perspective here people. I guess if nothing else, I can take solace that the American spirit will leave no opportunity un-exploited.

I really don't think we need a t-shirt to remember the bridge collapse. The new bridge suffices, thank you.

I'm quite tired of even hearing about it. Why must we memorialize every gosh darn thing? "It's been 5 years to the day since a mouse farted in the woods in Bumscratch County. Do you remember where you were when it happened? Story at 5:30."
