Alert reader Chris writes to call our attention to the new Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge that opened on Sunday in Nebraska. (World-Herald story here, blog photos of related parasailing here if you scroll a bit, design images here.) It’s like a much bigger version of our Sabo Bridge (old Roadguy video here) — both are for bikes and peds, both are suspension bridges, and both are named for members of Congress.
Foes of earmarks probably did not attend yesterday’s festivities — a $19 million earmark paid for most of the project.
