‘A View from the Bridge,’ and a view of a bridge

Went to the Guthrie tonight, saw “A View from the Bridge” on the thrust stage, then went out on the Endless Bridge and saw this:
A couple of women near me gasped when they stepped outside and saw the blue glow. The Stone Arch Bridge still rules the riverfront by day, but it barely got any notice — after dark, the new 35W bridge can definitely steal the show.

Nice picture! I think the different colors of lights on the new bridge make it very classy in a subdued way. My sister said, “Eh - boring,” but she was driving it by day. By night — pretty!
not bad for a couple tons of concrete
I drive under the bridge every morning and noticed them last week. The 2nd morning they were one, there seemed to be mulit colors (probably a glitch). Do the lights serve any purpose, other than to draw attention to the bridge? Are there other colors. The down river side has a rainbow affect in the center, but who knows. It might be like some of the tall building, different colors for different events.
Will the colors ever take a multi-colored stage, such as a constantly-changing “season-scape”? This could be gorgeous and shouldn’t provide highway distraction since the lights cannot be directly seen from the driving deck.
Perhaps the blue is indicative of the political shift of a few days ago. They will likely have to replace those blue bulbs quite often before the color changes to anything else.
