And the new windshield is in

Zero-deductible windshield coverage appears to be my friend.

My insurance company picked the vendor, and after some phone tag, a guy came out here to headquarters this morning. It was one of those “we’ll be there between 10 and 4″ things, and he shocked me by calling me at 9:50 — before I was even at work. Once we found each other amidst the acres of parking, it went pretty quickly — about 20 minutes.

Per alert reader Mike’s comment the other day, I had asked the scheduling woman about glue and temperatures, and she said her company’s adhesives worked as long as it was above zero degrees. (It’s 32 right now, and warmer than that in the car, so we’re allegedly O.K.) Total cost to my insurance company: $364.
