An online friend who can save you money when it snows

I’ve made a request to become Facebook friends with Minneapolis SnowEmergency — finally, a status update that’s actually useful. There’s a similar MySpace page, according to the news release I just received. I’ll link to the release once it’s on the city’s website.

UPDATE: I’ve been accepted as a friend of SnowEmergency — I was friend No. 3, in fact.

Super! Most of the Minneapolis violators of snow emergencies are in the Facebook demographic. We need to get a text message system set up too.

There is a text message system. You have to sign up for it, it’s free.

Is that an unfounded accusation Wilhelm, or do you have some hard data to back it up?
Believe me, I drive the city streets professionally, and I see all types parked illegally on Snow Emergency days, but generally they are without occupants so I can’t see their demographic data for myself.

Great idea! I know lots of people at the U who have been towed in previous years, so I will direct them to this on Facebook. Thanks, Roadguy!

The City seems to be moving fast (it’s already up to 164 friends).
