The New York Times offers this story out of Detroit, where people are praying for a bailout. The photo of three hybrid SUVs on a church altar is something you don’t see every day.

Not the worst I’ve seen. Back in October someone proclaimed a “Day of Prayer for the World’s Economies.” and a bunch of people gathered on Wall Street to pray. They ended up rallying around the charging bull statue in Bowling green park, just off the Street.

Apparently the irony of praying for wealth in front of a golden bull was lost on them. One wonders if they actually read the bible at any point in their lives. *sigh.*

Why don’t they just pray for unlimited oil to be discovered right outside Detroit? Then they could keep their dinosaur corporations just the way they are and nobody would ever have to evolve or change. Change is scary.
