Odds, ends and a couple of radio gigs

*Maybe I got asked because Batgirl’s no longer available, but I’ll be a guest on the Canada-based Internet show “Bases Loaded” on Friday. The webcast, at http://www.mcnsports.com/, is hosted by Elliott Price, the former Expos broadcaster, should be on the website early this afternoon. I guess they want to go deep on Tyner v. Kubel and see how much love Minnesota has for Justin Morneau. If you miss the live gig, you can always listen during the slow moments over the Memorial Day weekend. (Update: Due to techincal issues in the Great White North, today’s show was canceled. I’ve been told to expect a call next week.)
*I’ll also be on WCCO-AM, in my other job as a Star Tribune news editor, at 11:45 a.m. to talk about a story scheduled for this weekend about the new pitch limits in Little League baseball. Yes, they do Tommy John surgery on teenagers now. Pretty sick, huh?
*I won’t be on Oprah or The View.
*Speaking of Batgirl, the sassy Twins blogger (and dear friend) who wrote Wednesday that she’s shutting down her site, I want to add to the chorus of those who will miss her terribly. I remember when Batgirl (a/k/a Anne Ursu) told me she was starting a Twins blog and her questions about whether anyone other than family or close friends would read it. I think the comments attached to her last post showed that at least a few folks made her a regular part of their Internet diets.
*It’s been tough even tougher to be being Kyle Lohse lately.Â
*I’ve said this a couple of times already but it bears repeating: Thanks for keeping the dialogue here civil and entertaining. I appreciate that the shouting matches and insults have been few and far between.
