From today’s story about Joe Mauer’s return to the lineup: Mauer is not expected to DH much because the Twins have found that he struggles to stay loose while sitting on the bench between at-bats.

From Mauer’s 2006 statistics:

Catching: 152 for 457 — .333BA/.415 OBP/.486 slugging.

DHing: 27 for 60 – .450/.555/.667.

We should all have that much trouble staying loose between at-bats, huh?
