Too bad about Casilla though. That's going to hurt. It sounds like Everett's rehab stint went pretty well though so maybe the Twins will catch a break and he'll come back closer to the kind of defensive player he's been in the past. These comment sections are probably going to go from "difficult to read" to "avoid at all costs", though, because I think Nick Punto is the best option for a regular replacement at 2B and the whining will be intolerable around here. I know Harris can play 2B but he looked lost over there in April and this pitching staff needs the best defense behind it that it can get. I'm not saying Punto is the best defensive 2B in the league... but he's certainly the best one on the Twins current roster and he's going to need to be in the lineup. I've liked Kotchman a lot since he played in the Midwest League here in Cedar Rapids. It's a good deal for Atlanta assuming they had written off the possibility of re-signing Tex. But Teixeira is a legit power hitting stud with an OPS over .900 last I looked. This is what I meant earlier when I said I thought the Twins could compete with other teams as currently constituted... if other teams stood pat. But that isn't going to happen.
